Conspiracy Theorists: A Final Essay

Due to recent experiences, and a bit of reading on the subject, I find myself compelled to do a piece on conspiracy theorists, their nature, way of thinking, and motivations. Why do these theories exist? Do they have some truth to them? Do they have any basis in facts or evidence? The answer to these questions is beyond no, it is a level of no to which we cannot fathom as human beings. These theories, though I am doing the word theory a great disrespect, are created by individuals who merely want some comfort and clarity in the complicated word of politics, though other subjects may contain these vile disrespects of fact. You see, when an individual, or group of individuals is confronted with a situation to which they cannot deal with, for example, say I ask a very stubborn, arrogant 8 year old what syndicalism means, do you think he’ll appreciate being presented with ideas or theories that overwhelm him? No, he won’t, and most individuals, primarily Americans, don’t like it either.

Americans are so fixated on the superficial things of society (Sports, fashion, celebrities, material goods) that they never get a chance to think about or study politics and societal matters, and if given the opportunity, would purposely avoid it. It is a certain type of anti-intellectualism that seems to be popular in the states. When elections do come around, most Americans cling to talking points and regurgitated ideas that the nature of which they barely grasp themselves. So when say, a politician does something different, or new ideas are discussed, ones that are drastically different than the simple ones they like that always read something like “Freedom!” “Less Government” “Personal Responsibility” “Less Taxes!”, let’s just say they’re not exactly enthralled, they’re frightened, and want some way, any way, to explain this previously unfathomable phenomena of ideology and philosophy. As Matt Taibbi puts it,” They run off into the alleyways to jack off in self narcissism”. A very unpleasant thought, but an appropriate metaphor.

They claim to have had an awakening afterwards, to really understand all the manipulation that goes on, we’re all really tools they’ll say, or something along those lines, and those who do not see, are sheep. So, for example, 9/11 truthers, they see the horrible event of 9/11 and, instead of trying to think about the motive of the terrorist who did it, trying to understand, they have an epiphany and “realize” that we’re all really being told by the media figures that Bin Laden did it so the politicians can get away with the crime, they get a certain zing, for thinking that they’re the only people that REALLY know what happened, and that they’re better than everyone else because everyone else buys into the media’s lies. This is human behavior, predictability at its best. These people become very fixated on their version of how certain events happened, and entirely dismiss real issues and whole other ideas and ways of thinking out there. In time, they base their worldview off of a small insignificant event like 9/11. They become numb to the rest of the world, feeling that events like 9/11 and what they feel happened are all that really affect the world.

If you ask one of these people about their thoughts on economics, or politics, there really won’t be much for them to say, they have nothing to say. Their idea is that all politicians lie and so real issues don’t really matter anyway. Most of these people are very self righteous independents, but this problem is also prevalent on the right and left wings. These people always want things to be nice and simple, complicated things, like politics and its wide range of issues, scare them, and so conspiracy theories are there to narrow it down to a nice simple theory to explain everything for them. It’s immature, even childish, but it is what they do. One of them got angry at me when I used the word “pragmatist” when having a conversation with him, b/c it was such a big word and “normal” dumbass people I guess, don’t use that kind of language. When it has gotten to the point when people get pissed when you don’t talk like a dumbfu**. Society is clearly declining.

People succumb to these theories because, think about it, they’re naturally appealing. I mean, if you’re confused by something while everyone else seems to understand it, you wouldn’t like that. So if you stumble upon something that claims that this is what REALLY happened, and those who believe the theory actually understand and are more enlightened, while everyone else is a stupid sheep, eating up the whatever the media says. The other option is to actually find out what you believe, and learn about different political and economic theories, but most Americans would never do that, knowledge frightens them. When I think about these kind of people, I feel a sort of pity, I wouldn’t like to go through life never knowing what I actually believed or thought, rushing from theory to theory for solace and clarity. On the right, you have apocalyptic revelations of God judging us all, and they usually choose a specified date for these events. On the left and center it’s mostly 9/11 truthers, pearl harbor truthers, people that say both parties are in on the grand conspiracy. From that way of thinking spawns a certain self worshiping practice. Example, many independents, when asked about what political party they are, will answer,”Neither, I like to think for myself.” And they feel good saying that, knowing that they really DO think for themselves, everyone else can stick with their talking points.

This is silly, because saying you are a democrat or a republican doesn’t make you a mind slave to a set of ideals, it means that the ideals of this or that party suits me, so I associate and vote for them, secondly, being “independent” mostly says that you actually haven’t done much thinking at all, because you don’t know where you stand or think about most issues. If you do try to look at the “facts” and “evidence” that’s supposed to support these theories, they are usually based off of a couple factors, while leaving several hundred or so out, failing to take this or that into account.

For example, some who believe in the 9/11 conspiracy theory often smugly tell me, “Well, after the first plane went in, why didn’t they shoot down the second one, they must’ve known it was terrorists by then!” I can take this apart piece by piece. Giving a generous assumption that they had anti-aircraft guns on the buildings nearby and that the government knew after the first plane that it wasn’t just an accident, let’s say you’re manning that anti-aircraft gun, and you see the second plane, dozens of thoughts race through your head, “It has to be a suicide bombing! “What if it isn’t, and you kill dozens of civilians” Can this one individual make a conscious decision to blow the plane up? No! The government can’t collaborate enough within the small amount of time between each plane to decide or figure out what’s going on, and then order the guns to shoot anything else that comes. We’re just NOT that organized! Everyone was under the assumption that the first plane had been an accident before the second one anyway! The total failure to think about what they’re implying exemplifies the way these conspiracy theorists think, that couple things has to mean this totally insane theory, there is NO other possible explanation! So fu**ing childish.

The liberal writer, Matt Taibbi, refers to this mass exodus of logic and rational thought from most Americans minds as “The Great Derangement” Which is quite appropriate. When Americans were faced with ideas and situations that were beyond them, they lost it, they had gone on so long buying into left or right and either side’s talking points, and suddenly a bunch of complicated things that were new and different came into their minds, lots of questions, with no answers. They were forced to think about the nature behind political ideas, their reasoning, etc. Well, at least, they tried, but that’s the whole reason conspiracy theories exist, they couldn’t cope with it, their anti-intellectualism had degraded them to the point where trying to think about something like economics would cause a breakdown. It made them mad, depressed, a wide range of emotions, these theories entirely devoid of fact or thinking are just ways to cope with it.

It gives them comfort, and thats all they ever wanted, Americans like their comfort zone, and if denying complexity will give it to them, then they will, in this case the denial comes from conspiracy theories. Even if it gnaws away at them deep down, they’ll do it, and they’ll keep doing it, if you don’t realize you’re full of shit when you’re very young, you’re not gonna when you’re older. You’re just even more stubborn and drastic changes in ways of thinking causes mid live crises. Americans are happy where they are, mindless, ever consuming of whatever is given to them, whether it be talking points or material goods. Their place of happy mindless consumer is not to be violated, they will use whatever means necessary of keeping that comfort, the product is these conspiracy theories. Having had the experience of being a friend to one for a long time, it is no fun, they bring them up whenever possible, and accuse those who disagree of being another sheep who doesn’t understand. The irony is that the independent spirit they so worship, is just another stereotype, just like the liberal democrat and the conservative republican, they’re not really independent, they all succumb to nearly identical ways of thinking. But it gives them comfort to think they’re independent, so they’ll think that, and they’ll keep doing it. It is IMPOSSIBLE to break the spell. They are so wrapped up in the theory that can’t possibly fathom anything else.

Don’t bother trying to explain or enlighten the infected individual, they will just frustrate you, they’ll deny anything you present to the contrary of what they say, it is best to just dismiss them as beneath you and let them whine about your elitism/arrogant behavior.

As an American myself, I am sad to see that so many in my country have succumbed to this denial.

All this, just so we can be comforted, rather than enlighten ourselves and actually know what we think!

We can do better, though I doubt that we will..

Democratic Socialism: Another Manifesto

Recently, at the expense of my mental health, I’ve been trying to READ material by conservatives! I know, I know, it’s a bad idea, Ann Coulter has some serious problems, I KNOW! But..I’ve been trying to read their drawl, and yes, Coulter DOES have some serious issues, the material is so nauseating, it’s not Beck level vomit inducing, but still.

I’ve been reading about the glories of the free market and the profit motive, while they make their manipulative populist fascism sound appealing, I know way too much about them to believe for a second the B.S. they spew. If I were some silly young person, who didn’t know jack shit about politics, then, yeah, I would’ve been convinced by them that the rich are the most productive members of society and the ONLY reason people work is greed and starvation. But…if one says, “wait a second” and thinks about those convictions for about two seconds, you’ll come to the conclusion that the capitalists are a bunch of morons, respectively. NOW, even if I use words incorrectly to sound sophisticated, I’m still right and they’re still wrong.

I haven’t posted anything lately simply b/c it’s been summer, and I occupy myself with other activities, like trying to read their crap, I say trying, as their books are not exactly page turners, they’re not funny in the least, and who WANTS to read that political motivated chalk full of B.S. drawl as an excuse for a book?! I’m currently reading some book about conservative “comebacks” to liberal “lies”. The so called comebacks are really just frequent repetitions of incorrect points cited one page ago based off of misconceptions about society and the economy in general. I might start posting again once school starts, and I have less time to goof off, and feel more obligated to pummel conservative talking points since there is no time for me to waste.

A couple weeks ago, I glanced at a wiki file, titled “fascist economics”, and out of curiosity and mostly suspicion it would read exactly the way I thought it would. It detailed how fascist economics were somewhat about punishing the poor and working classes for being unsuccessful, and rewarding big business and corporations. I thought to myself at the time, “WOW, ISN’T THAT A BIG FU**ING SURPRISE?!” I mean, who would’ve thought that fascists, and Ronald Reagan had so much in common!? Well, actually, I would’ve, and many others probably would’ve too.

Back during capitalism’s infancy, it’s advantages were many, as under feudalism, political and economic life were merged, they were interdependent. In capitalism, the worker could choose to sell his labor, instead of being forced to give it up as a result of the other option being having your head cut off. Of course, later we found out, that the concept really meant WORK FOR WAL-MART AND EARN 9 BUCKS AN HOUR OR STARVE AND DIE SINCE WE KILLED THE SMALL BUSINESSES IN YOUR COMMUNITY. Now, this does not sound nearly as appealing as the definition they used before, but they decided to leave out the part about the inevitability of that kind of situation under the fascist capitalism they adore. Capitalism simply means a continuation of fascism in it’s economic form. They’re like, “Hey, how about we let you vote for leaders while still trying to kill the working class and help big business do so as well!” I think they might’ve changed the wording a bit, which again, is convenient…for them.

The inevitable situation under capitalism in which capital has more power than votes will lead to the irrevocable weakening and destruction of political democracy, sending us back to square one. Oh wait, we ARE at square one, corporations already own politicians, never mind, my mistake. This begs the question, is private control of production in general that much of a good idea, or is social production a better way to handle the economy? Under private control by a couple individuals, labor power is bought by capitalists, and the needs of the workers in general are placed second to the bottom line: profit. This obviously can lead to results that are…not so great. When I say social production, I mean production owned by the group of people producing their respective products, not by government bureaucracies. Under private control, the wage they are payed is also whatever is less than the amount they make, this is again inferior to social production, where everyone needs to succeed and be paid the same amount in order for their business and everyone to succeed and enjoy the labor they are taking part in. We’re all in this together! The requirement of profit becomes less a priority, and everyone else fitting in, enjoying themselves, and being paid fairly becomes the first priority, with equality comes a level of satisfaction for all taking part in the production. So, based off of that, socialization of some things can be very positive, you draw the line at housing, that’s just ridiculous.

There becomes no reason to cheat and steal from your co workers, for one, they would all catch you, and they are all your friends, you wouldn’t want to steal from them. But under capitalist private control, the CEO doesn’t give a flying shit about what happens to his employees, he’ll just hire more, they becomes tools in the eyes of those higher up, instead of human beings who are your friends and neighbors, just another reason why capitalism is immoral. It only gives us incentives to view our fellow human being as a tool to be used and cheated. This is unhealthy, and there is no reason to continue such a practice.

The bottom line is that centralization of power is never good, unless it protects our rights and provides many good things to us and is kept in check, otherwise decentralization is best for most of society. Government is an example of good centralization of power. Corporations, big business, and centralization in the economy is bad, it is not kept in check and leads to viewing people as items to be used, and they do not provide anything essential, they provide mass amounts of goods to consumers which are below average in quality and come from exploitation of others. And since social production can serve the purpose of providing goods to consumers, they serve no purpose. Centralized government power protects our rights and builds a lot of stuff, is kept in check and can be elected and thrown out. Centralized corporate power entails nothing but using our fellow man as a tool. Civilization rejected dictatorship and political despotism, so what is the point of continually accepting the same variant on an economic scale?

There is NO point to it, and conservatives know that to, but corporations pay them, to pretend not to.

Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack: Review

Recently, the second pack of DLC (DownLoadable Content) for Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) came out for the PC and PS3 (June 3rd for the X360). The Resurgence Pack is definitely better than it’s predecessor, The Stimulus Pack, where many felt that they had been ripped off with some less than decent maps and a 15 dollar price tag. The price remains unchanged, but the quality of the content has definitely increased. In particular, many felt that the maps that came back from Call of Duty 4 in The Stimulus Pack were direct copies. The maps that have come back in the Resurgence Pack, Strike and Vacant, brought some tweaks and changes with them. Strike and Vacant have been re-textured. In Strike they opened up a couple of rooms and got rid of a glitch where you could capture section C in domination by sitting in a room in a building nearby the flag, making it very hard for opponents to stop them from capturing it. On Vacant, it is now much brighter and it is also re-textured. It also brought a small tweak, the little gate in the back office which you can see through, but not go into, is now open when playing Demolition, in the interest of fairness. All these changes show much more effort on Infinity Ward’s part than what we saw in The Stimulus Pack.

Besides the smaller changes to the new maps, this pack brings three impressive new battlegrounds. There’s Carnival, a desolate amusement park which is very themed, and some of the attractions can come in handy for tactical advantages. The 2nd map is Fuel, now the biggest battleground in MW2 Multiplayer, bigger than overgrown! And the 3rd is Trailer Park, supposedly the living quarters for the people who worked in the boneyard, from The Enemy of My Enemy, and Snatch & Grab.

Carnival is a unique map, sightlines are key in this desolate park, it’s fairly large, and has all the attractions you would think an amusement park should have, allows for plenty of different types of gameplay. From sniping to close quarters shotgunning, there is a lot of variety here. While there is a good amount of confined combat in certain areas, if you’re a run and gun type of person, one may want a weapon that can handle medium and long range combat a bit better, as you’ll have to go through areas where firing at longer ranges is necessary. A tip is that the balcony on Fun Haus, the platform on the castle, the rocket ship, and higher parts of the roller coaster, all make great sniping positions. In particular, the top of the roller coaster is great for Demolition/Search and Destroy, as one can see site B . While that perch is in the open, people don’t bother to look there very often, and depending on what team you’re on, you can just snipe anyone out trying to plant or defuse the bomb from there.

Carnival contains some references to Futurama (one of the rides is called the World of Tomorrow). All the clowns’ left arms are ripped off in a reference to Zachaev losing his left arm after being shot by Cpt.Price (COD4 Single Player). This map may take some getting used to, since it’s somewhat unique compared to most Call of Duty battlegrounds. One problem I have with the map is that it is harder to move through the area when you’re TF141 than the Militia, as much of the park matches the Militia’s outfits, so it can be difficult to see them too! But otherwise it’s a great map, for all game modes and styles of play. See a walk-through here: http://www.xfire.com/video/2fe53e/

Fuel, being so large, will also take some time to settle in to, and may be better for objective modes, as the size of the map may promote camping since the goal in modes like FFA and TDM are just to kill. Personally, I haven’t seen that problem, if you really want to use an SMG, stay in one of the buildings, or move in and out of each of them, as an UMP45 cannot fire very accurately across long distances, and you’re likely to get sniped out in the open, especially if you can fire back very well. I enjoy the maps many sniping positions and capacity for medium range fighting for assault rifles and LMGs, along with plenty of buildings that are interconnected ENOUGH to allow for some SMG run and gunning. I really enjoy the map, usually even more so in objective modes, but it really is also great in Team Deathmatch.

The map can be seen as divided into two sections, there’s the building section, with a large pavement section that divides each section of buildings, and a large plain which can be difficult to traverse across w/o being sniped. Personally, I think that SnD and Demolition are the best game modes for this map, just the location of the bomb sites seemed to have been placed really well, fair for both teams. HQ seems to be more problematic in where the HQs were placed, and I’ve never liked CTF, but overall a great map. See a walk-through here: http://www.xfire.com/video/2fe559/

Trailer Park is a medium-small sized map definitely for run and gun type for people, there is some medium range combat in the streets in the side, but most of the fighting occurs in the middle, where there is a maze of trailers, some of which you can go through, and since there are fences in between some of the trailers, it would be wise to learn the quickest routes through the trailers and through the maze itself. It is most difficult to snipe on this map, so it would be wise to stick to assault rifles, SMGs, and shotguns. Domination doesn’t go well on this map, it’s too tight for it, HQ is quite good, the tight sections make for some great battles for control of the HQ. This map being smaller than Fuel, TDM is quite superb on this map, less camping, and more run and gun firefights. Since the map is the living quarters for those who worked in the boneyard, you will see it in the background. Also, it is noticeable that in one corner of the map there is a building also used in the Call of Duty 4 map Downpour. I find the concept of this map to be creative, and so it turns out a good idea for a multiplayer map. See a walk-through here: http://www.xfire.com/video/2fe59f/

Strike and Vacant, I will describe more briefly for those few in number who are not Call of Duty 4 veterans. Strike, is an urban warfare map, similar to Invasion or Crash. And also implements plenty of short, medium, and long range, good for all game modes and play styles. Vacant, is an abandoned office building, hence “Vacant”. It will encompass mostly medium to close range firefights, and it is very good for most game modes. Carry around a shotgun while in the office!

All in all, the Resurgence Map Pack is definitely a big increase in quality of content, while still pricey, I would say is worth it for the interesting, creative, and fun maps Infinity Ward created that the Stimulus Package lacked. Since it is a bit too pricey, I would not say this is a must buy, but if you like Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer a lot, than I would give this my recommendation, and is definitely the best map pack out of the two available.

Also, I hope you don’t consider this an advertisement, I’m not trying to advertise, but I belong to a gaming clan, we’re cool group of gamers, we mostly play Modern Warfare 2, we’d appreciate if you check us out at http://tacticalassassinsclan.freeforums.org/

Thoughts on Current Events: May 10th, 2010

Watching Glenn Beck today again makes me nauseous, he remarks how they just use “videos of their own words”, and how they’re not making ANYTHING up, it’s all just their words. He showed a clip of President Obama addressing a college crowd, saying how with iPads, iPods, xboxs, playstations, information becomes a distraction, rather than something we want to know. Now naturally, Glenn turned this into, “Information IS a distraction”. And slyly suggested that our president is trying to censor information and say that information and truth is evil, very “1984″ style. I find this total and complete fabrication to be one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen in the media, it just one more push towards the ultimate irony of being a state of controlled media, while being told it’s free, except it’s corporate controlled, it is not at all any worse than the “1984″ we have all read. Every day, Beck comes on the air and voices such intoxicated lies and damaging slurs while pretending that he’s just voicing his opinion, it has no negative opinion, without acknowledging the millions of ignorant Americans who listen to him and believe him.

Since I wrote an entire paper on socialism today, and I have a lot of other things on my mind, that’s really all I have to say for today. I would just hope that no one digs up my remarks if I ever run for a political position, I would certainly be scrutinized for calling Americans ignorant, since we’re obviously such an educated and accepting nation, not narrow minded or racist at all..[sarcasm] I was going to put the paper on socialism up, but my computer is fucked up to say the least, oh well…

Another Quick Announcement…

My school is taking Thursday and Friday off, so I will not be posting on those days, just enjoying my extended weekend.

Thoughts on Current Events: May 5th, 2010

I want to make my case today to open conversation on other topics than just the narrow little space of debate we have in capitalism, since Glenn Beck’s website has no new videos for me to make fun of. I want to have a real communist party in this country, I want to have a socialist party, I want to have a social democratic party, I want to have a democratic socialist party, I don’t want a fascist party, that’s too extreme, and with the communist party, I want an anti-Lenin/Stalin party, that’s plenty more moderate. I know there are already very very small time parties that represent these groups of people, but I want real parties representing these people. I want the people to really be educated on other ideologies, not be told by the media that socialism is automatically state control of everything, though it has taken that form in some cases unfortunately, I want the people to not constantly praise the “free” market, though they can if they want to, I want real democracy, not just two options that offer confusing perspectives, b/c of the lack of real progressives maintaining a large majority in the Democratic Party, with  to many conservative democrats really fu**ing things up for the rest of us.

We cannot have such political simplification, so many people think politics is too complicated and don’t really look into it, even if it’s not that hard to understand, however, if you were in Europe, it would be a bit more complicated, but even I understand so w/e. There, liberal means more free market oriented, so it gets confusing. Here, where people dismiss politics as bureaucratic and with too much bickering, it’s really quite simple, we’re not presented with that many other options, just two parties with one on the right and one on the center left. I support the Democratic Party, but I want more options, there needs to be greater political pluralism in this society if we are to truly call ourselves a democracy. If we are to stick with the Democratic Party, we need to establish a more solid party platform, and really really fight the republicans, I mean sucker punch those bastards in the face, I mean, I know it won’t happen, but I would just love to see the look on their faces if we actually gained seats in the house and senate in the 2010 election, not feasible, I just like the thought.

The right wing media is ridiculously large and organized, I mean, when I say large and organized, let me REALLY REALLY emphasize that point, while promoting the idea that the left really dominates our media. They are always able to seize our house and senate and block us from making the progress we desire. I mean, in that respect they have totally been right about the profit motive, the want of acquiring profit has really motivated the right to build a media empire and totally control our society and democracy, so um..just not in a positive way they were correct, but other than that, it fails, the profit motive will inspire cheating and lying, because you can acquire a lot of wealth by doing so. So capitalism naturally bends to create a lot of cheating and lying, any effort to stop this by regulating and making laws to prevent it as deemed as socialist, even if it just is trying to create a more sustainable form of capitalism. The free market is somehow defined as cheaters and liars with no rules, free to do whatever the hell they want in society.

I don’t see how this is really sustainable, but apparently it is, but it also helps that they label such a thing as a free market, which SOUNDS appealing, just as communism’s ideals of classlessness, and statelessness are definitely desirable just looking at the ideals, dig down  to what it truly is, and you find just the modern form of dictatorships and autocracy, transformed in name to seem appealing. Propaganda in history has proved to be so effective, how people are so infinitely gullible to people who promise a better way of life and unquestionably believing them is puzzling. Which is again why I push for education reform, improving our schools, and allowing free higher education, so our young population is not forced into service jobs that offer poor conditions and wages. As I have theorized before, and I hope that no one else has, it seems if we accept democracy in one sector, but dictatorship in another, the sector with the dictatorship will extend it’s hand of control over the democratic sector.

Like the Soviet Union, the idea was workers councils would be the governing body for the economy, which were elected, but which were soon overpowered by the dictatorship they accepted politically. Or in our society, where we have a political democracy, but a dictatorial economy, and the economy has extended it’s influence over our political elections with the pumping of large sums of money into elections to promote their agenda. What can we draw from this conclusion? That democracy is very vulnerable to dictatorship and authoritarian rule, and needs to be protected by an educated people who will reject authoritarian rule if it ever was offered to them, and laws and workers right, basic rights that the people would cherish and never let go of. But it ultimately comes down to the mainstream people of a society, who are too often tricked into totalitarian communism or authoritarian capitalism. That is why we need much easier access to education and higher education [college, graduate school] and that is why the right is so opposed to it, it’s not because it’s “another entitlement”.

It’s because they know that an educated, united people who know what they want and who is in there way, who opposes them, will entirely destroy the hidden authoritarian rule they have established for themselves, and continue to pretend otherwise, even if we all know it in the back of our minds, that something just doesn’t seem right. It’s just another truth we must be willing to accept if we are too move forward, as one people, in society.

Thoughts on Current Events: May 4th, 2010

Glenn starts out in the video I’m viewing by making a sarcastic comment, “Those racist cops were at it again!” As if liberals were claiming such things. “It was almost as if our cops were doing a great job and not being racist, *weird childish laugh*” Referring to our cops apprehending the terrorist suspect for the attempted bombing of Times Square. Okay…did we ever make a grand proclamation that all cops are racists? I don’t remember doing that, but I’m crazy. I do remember having an ordeal where a cop was being racist, meaning the African-American professor case. It’s a problem, but our police are wonderful public servants who put their lives on the line every day for us, just thought I should clarify that for Glenn, I know he wouldn’t want ANYTHING fabricating or misleading out there, so just helping him out there. I’m sure he’s grateful for my help!

Glenn advocates torture for the Pakistani-American who allegedly attempted to bomb Times Square. And very slyly again suggested that the liberals were trying to say the tea parties are responsible for this, again, if he had any basis to that claim, he’d show a clip, which he failed to do and so often does, and when he does, it’s a flimsy excuse for evidence of any of his deranged conspiracies. Glenn on his show made another chalkboard “diagram”. Showing the constitution as our tabletop, with three legs supporting the tabletop, and then supposedly the liberals are piling things onto the tabletop, like debt and spending. Glenn asks, “How long can this go on? How long will the table hold?!” I don’t know Glenn, how about you ask George W. Bush and the Republicans that question, or all the conservatives in this country who allowed this to happen, or yourself, sharing similar viewpoints which are precisely the ideas that got our economy and society into trouble.

So, yes Glenn, you of all people should know the answer, how long will that tabletop hold? Ask yourself that when you accept the frequent pay raises, often from 20 to 30 million dollars annually. Ask yourself every time you don’t give to charity, every time you encourage not paying taxes, every time you support the ignorance the tea parties already encourage. Ask yourself that question, and figure out who’s really responsible for what happened, and who happens to be cleaning up the mess. Secondly, I find the diagram he presents such a simplistic view of economics and society, he needs to stop simplifying things to simple diagrams that represent whatever political talking point he’s peddling, rather than taking actual statistics and factors that must go into account. Glenn is always drawing diagrams to represent your choices, either free market authoritarian capitalism or communist dictatorship, just to make our choices very clear. Even if the diagram fails to take into account various layers of things in between, and other theories that contradict whatever he’s peddling at the time.

In real life, that diagram would not just go left to right, showing capitalism and communism, it would go up down, and 3 dimensional. That’s how complicated we’re talking about. I mean, you have ideologies called libertarian socialism, which is almost an oxymoron. You have democratic socialism, you have social democracy, you have Trotskyism, you have Leninism, you have Marxism, you have left wing communism, you have anarchist communism, you have anarchism, you have centrally planned versus decentralized, you have authoritarian, you have nationalism, you have fascism, you have Nazism, you have yellow socialism, you have red socialism, you have Stalinism, you have collectivism. Labeling one thing or another as one thing and one thing only is so ridiculously naive, and that’s really only the economic ideological factor in society, there are plenty of other factors to take into account when talking about societal studies.

As I have presented before, one of the better ideologies is democratic socialism, which wants to achieve a socialist state by democratic means, and maintain a pluralistic society, meaning democratic. Democratic elections to government positions, and a cooperatively owned economy. Such a feat would be achieved by a well educated people, and reform. Labor Unions, workers rights, the natural bend in history towards justice and liberation, we just have to let that natural bend bend.

Another point I would like to address, would be Glenn Beck’s “response” to a so-called “ratings slump” talked about in the “liberal blogosphere” I don’t remember any of us talking about it, and if they did, I would doubt it, I would certainly like to see it, but people will happily gobble up lies. Glenn says that somehow telling the truth all the time got him the ridiculously high ratings he has. In a word, no. Very positive ratings doesn’t mean you are telling the truth, as I have explained before, this is like saying that because smoking pot is popular, it is right. I think that most of our parents and teachers early on in life have taught us that in the end popularity is nothing. Glenn and O’Reilly know it too, but it’s the only justification and/or way to claim that they’re telling the truth, b/c obviously people in a society are never tricked or deceived by powerful figures. No, never! Stalin never lied to his people, he always told the truth [sarcasm]. The same standard of skepticism and question should be applied to all media figures, no matter how humble they claim to be or act, they still influence millions of people a day and make millions of dollars a year. Pretending all our media figures are our humble correspondents are never deceiving or biased is simply naive, just as Glenn would say so, but only when in reference to other networks, such as the obviously heavily biased CNN [sarcasm].

Glenn would really have us believe that our economy and society can all be represented by a tabletop that evil liberals are putting books on and weighing the tabletop down that holds up our society and economy. Well Glenn, you want to know who’s made up of that tabletop, who keeps our economy running? The very people you’re stepping on.
